23 Aug 2014: @Sea

Well, had a lovely day in Boston yesterday, went to the South Boston Waterfront, the Americans are for ever talking about north, east, west and south, when they tell you, where something is! So lyk my ek sal n kompas moet kry!! Om my te orienteer want ek useless met dit.

When I left the terminal building I saw these people in front of a car in the street only to realise that the poor women’s long dress got caught up in her suitcases wheels. Now can you imagine the picture, 2 guys have picked up the suitcase still attached to the dress and this poor women is taking Chinese steps all the way to the pavement, must say was very funny. Hope they got the dress out of the wheels eventually.

I was as stiff as can be, after my gym session the previous day .So I had aches and pains in places I did not even know, existed. Not that it put me off from taking to the streets. Ended up in the Renaissance Hotels lobby, doing my internet business. Down loaded my books from home and e-mails .Hubby is right, your lifeline while you are away from home.

Glad I decided against getting the newspaper electronically because that is usually only all the bad and sad news from home and as things are going now, there is more than enough bad news on the TV here in the States .Met a crew member last night at supper that comes from the Ukraine, they just want to leave there country, she is thinking of immigrating to Italy. Says it is terrible and you live in fear all the time.

Was chilly and cloudy in Boston,so did not see the sun all day.Was back on board at 14h00 and we left at 16h00 on the dot!! Hier werk alles presies op tyd, unless an emergency. Enjoyed the sail away party this time from deck 13.Will post a few pics in Bermuda.Jou voete wil sommer ook inval met die dansery en mooi musiek, almal in vakansie luim. Am still fascinated with all the aeroplanes that keep landing the one after the other, is really amazing, took a nice photo of one just above our boat coming in to land.

The kids are hardly on board and they are on the waterslides in rain or wind or cold does not matter they having fun and the vocation has started!! Amazing to just watch them, don’t get tired and never get enough of it. So think these cruises are great for them, friends, nice food, ice-cream 24/7, games, organised entertainment, what more do you want?

This morning early hubby had a call out, so no sleeping late. At least only 20 steps from our room to medical centre!! A lady with atrial fibrillation, so that kept him busy for a while. I went to the gym and tried to get rid of all my aches and pains. Then it was time for breakfast and I got stuck in, was hungry this morning.

Captain said the boats stabilisers were out but still rocking and rolling, so we all look as if we have had, one to many!!! 3 steps this way and 2 that way!! Sitting in the library while someone is playing the most beautiful piano music in the atrium, it is open so I can enjoy it while I am sitting up here, made me think of hubbys stepfather, who also could play beautifully.

This afternoon the 2 of us watched a lovely movie God is not dead, can recommend it, really enjoyed it and had me crying here and there. My blaas sit mos baie naby aan die oe. Just realised again very difficult to have faith when there are no guarantees and a step in the dark, but that again, is faith. God is good and very real and alive. Praise the Lord.

Had my tea this afternoon and unfortunately the carrot cake got hold of me! Has been a miserable day for the passengers because rainy, windy and the sea rough, so no lying outside in the sun on the way to paradise! Hopefully better weather tomorrow.

 Until next time,bye
