25 Sept 2014 : Bar Harbour Maine
Arrived in Bar Harbour this morning at 8h00, we anchored in
the bay and went ashore with the tender boats. Was so glad that hubby could get
off with me, so decided that we were going to try there lobster today. This is
a beautiful place and I would say that Bar Harbour ,Quebec and Charlottetown
are the best places visited on this trip.
I just could not get enough of this amazing town, took 164
photos, hubby’s comment was, thank goodness he does not have to look at them!!!
Cheeky thing. Was a beautiful day and not a breath of air. Old town charm,
beautiful huge homes along the water, lots and lots of trees, shops, cafes,
restaurants , jewellery shops.
The trees are starting to change colour, so will see, when
we are back in 2 weeks. Discovered this special spot behind a very smart hotel
with chairs overlooking a beautiful bay, so spent some time just sitting in the
sun overlooking the bay. In these parts the people are lobster crazy and on the
west coast you get crab. I prefer the crab and will not order lobster again,
the new England clam chowder and blue berry pie was delicious. We had our
lobster at the West Street Café, I took photos to show you and they are smaller
than our lobsters.
In the harbour area, in the bay and in the sea further out,
there are hundreds of buoys in the water for the lobster’s cages. Hulle is so
een een,nie n hele klomp bymekaar nie of aaneen nie .For someone like me that
loves plants ,gardening and flowers, this town is something to see, flowers all
over the place, absolutely stunning.
Will definitely be back to enjoy this place all over again,
in a weeks’ time. Tomorrow, it is Boston for my last 2 weeks, bye.
